Well here we go , is another project.

Probably going to be an engine out job on this one and then tart up and sell.

Anyhow could be interesting, depending on what I put in it.

Keep your eyes looking down at the pavement, collect enough of those discarded red rubber bands and build yourself a big winder and you are sorted :)
Zero emissions so no road tax as a bonus.

I have loads of those larger than a tennis ball already. think it could power it quite well :)

for a bit... not sure for now long....

Sarky
09-26-2009, 09:27 PM
well things have started.

Tidying up has commenced, looking better already.

Need to ask you to do a bit of welding on the rear quarter where the old spoiler was on the wing.

Give me a bell when your around mate, once thats done I probably need to get the same thing done on my 34 too :)

I`m mostly being confused, is it your 34 finally wriggled out of the garage or another one?

Sarky

another one, fixing, doing up and then selling.

Car looks a lot better for the removal of the ''graphics'', welding no problem bud, just getting it over there, perhaps a hand from the big guy and the Forester would be the answer.

Sarky
09-27-2009, 09:08 PM
no problem.

Graphics mostly off now and Tcut rear panel so thats done.

Checked out the engine, spark plugs are bad so need changing.

Need to establish compression check just to say its been done and then a full service.

Looking at wheels right now, think black would look good if i get it right think I can use the tyres that are on the existing wheels. Will sell the others soon for 200 quid abouts I think, dont suit the car.

Spoiler has gone too.

Going to get the valeter to do the interior as it stinks of dog.

Sarky
09-28-2009, 04:45 PM
latest bit of work and she is starting to look like a not bad piece of work.

All graphics off on the RHS now and been T-cut.

Latest picture attached, wheels really need to be done.

Next is the other side to be done , T-cut.

Front and rear bumper to be taken off
Rear welding to be done on rear quarter(s)
Under seal the car
Full service on the engine
( Cambelt+tensioner, oil filter, oil, fuel filter, Brake pads front and rear )

Bodykit
Replace Side Indicators
Spray Car where needed
New Wheels ( use tires )
Replace interior front seats
Valet interior
Replace Drivers side outer window trim.

Clean up engine bay

Starting to look good bud, who said you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear, looks like ''a nice little earner'', have you got a schutz gun for doing the undersealing?

Sarky
09-28-2009, 09:04 PM
i have a paint brush all ready to go, going to put it on axle stands and then take off the wheels and suspension to get into all the nooks and crankies.

Will take pictures of all the places etc as it goes on.

It is starting to come together quite nicely, just takes time. Although its not been long, let me know next time you see it in the flesh.

09-28-2009, 09:07 PM
Don't do it with a brush, I have a schutz gun you can use, the finish is so much better and the stuff sticks onto where it should, will be at home from 1.15 tomorrow afternoon if you floating about pop over and I'll sort it out for you, trust me it's a far better job all round.

Sarky
09-28-2009, 09:17 PM
ok will pop over.

Better still if you fancy it, a steak and a beer would go down a treat . . . obviously not out of a kettle :-)

Sarky

Will call/text when on the way. :)

SO what wheels do you think looks good on a white car.

I quite like the darker look on white ( ideas ? )

Definately need the centres darker, gives them depth and provides some contrast.

Sarky

r34 gtr rims me thinks.

Update.

engine ready for full service now with all bits taken off.
plugs were knackered
drivers side now waxyoiled and front wheel arch also completed.

air con is discharged, engine has obviously been out before, cams marked with "in" and "ex" so its been in pieces at some point.

the radiator was meant to be new but it wasnt, it also had completely red water in it, so its drained out completly and off the car.

compression test next to check
timing light check next also after service.

Have decided on a GTR rear wing ( style )

Was this water completely red through rust or completely red with long life anti-freeze?

Sarky
09-30-2009, 12:17 PM
red and when i empltied it there was horrid blobs or red silt at the bottom, clay like.

Anyhow its changed now, or at least empty.

overspent
09-30-2009, 06:01 PM
Sounds like a mixture of corrosion and radweld, had that on a Capri some years ago and it had solidified like a clay turd, it had reduced the flow on the bottom hose by near half, never had any overheating probs after it was flushed and cleaned out, so will hopefully be a good step forward now it gone on yours.

Sarky
09-30-2009, 07:00 PM
exactly my thoughts too.

Sarky
10-03-2009, 05:06 PM
really happy today. Timing done was way out. Plugs changed and engine back together. More T-cut on the other side of the car next. All in all going well and looking good.

overspent
10-03-2009, 05:13 PM
Good result today then, timing was probably that far out to compensate for the cams not being spot on.

Sarky
10-03-2009, 06:01 PM
explains why the cas was fully retarded. Just like the person who did the last rebuild. Typical. On the positive side no damage and running sweet now.

Someone elses screw-up is your gain mate, must have been an embarrassment to drive as it was, but now whatever its fate it's a far better prospect.

Sarky
10-04-2009, 03:43 PM
All good either way.

Need to have a catch up around the plates for the rear arches now.

Sarky
10-10-2009, 06:35 PM
right thats all the graphics off. Next is some of the bits I put above.

Probably ;

Jez

MOT first thing in the morning, it should fly through but I'll post up the results. Emissions could be a problem as the car has been standing for a while but thats easily sorted. Once thats done it's off to the paint shop for some TLC.

Jez
01-27-2010, 11:50 PM
Straight through the MOT once I'd replaced a numberplate bulb, no problems with the emissions. The car has been cleaned through and it's waiting on some service items before going to the paint shop for even more TLC.

Johnny
01-28-2010, 12:34 PM
Cool, its nearly finished - I cant believe it!

01-28-2010, 01:35 PM

Matt has worked his magic and the car is just about ready for paint. Not long now.

Sarky
05-21-2010, 04:17 PM
seen the latest update I think its time to bring it home and get it done locally. Its been over 4 months.

Jez
05-22-2010, 01:40 AM
Drive a primered car 100 miles, good plan!

Sarky
05-22-2010, 09:33 AM
Ok so how long as this is costing me a lot of money?

If it was you , you know you would be chasing if it was costing you money or matt.

The car has now been with you guys for four months, just look at the time line on the thread....

Latest pictures matt put on facebook a few nights ago showed the Bumber was not even repaired as I said 4 months now.

I owe rent on my workhop and am getting chased for it, and am getting charged interest on the loan as I said not happy.

I intend to pick up the gts4 also now just in case you didnt get the text. I need to do these things myself.

Will arrange to collect it.

I need to take back control of everything and get my money back end of.

Jez
05-22-2010, 11:14 AM
The GTS4 is just a shell with an engine now so will need a lift as it doesn't roll but yes that one has been neglected.

Matt has told me the bumper has been repaired and the car will be finished next week, I don't know why he would give us two different storys.

Has the R32 GTR with the R34 engine been touched since we spent ages rebuilding it? That was last summer!

Sarky
05-22-2010, 08:27 PM
The 32 is not relevant I gave a car away to be done and it's still not completed. Come on play cricket and stay with the subject at hand. I have money set aside for projects if you read this thread and read tHe time scales you will see I needed to have cash set aside not spent. if it was still by your time scales what would I do then ?

Defensive by pushing visibility into another area is none whatsoever.....

Let's hope the car is finished this week
